Learning Objectives
To complete this question:
• Configure Device Basic Settings
• Configure EtherChannel (Link Aggregation)
• Configure DTP and VTP on the switches
• Configure Spanning Tree
• Verify Network Connectivity
Important notes
• You need to document each task or subtask by mentioning the commands used.
• The Packet Tracer file should be returned to a special forum, ask your tutor about the name of the
forum.
• The packet tracer “configuration function” has been disabled so you will have to configure the routers
through the CLI as if you were accessing them via the console interface or via telnet.
• You should include a print screen of the configuration when required; failing to provide the
print screen results in loosing marks for that section (between 0.5 and 2 marks).
• Each of the four switches has 24 FastEthernet ports and 2 GigaEthernet ports.
Scenario
This question tests your skills and knowledge that you learned in CCNA level 3 (chapters 1, 2, 3 and 4).
You are asked to configure the switches to support IPv4 connectivity, VTP and Spanning Tree. You will
also verify connectivity and document the configuration. Finally, the PCs were configured. T216B-TMA Page 5 of 16 Fall 2020-2021

Part 1. Configure Device basic setting. (12 marks)
This part is based on chapter 1 (1.2.3) and chapter 2 (2.1.4) of CCNA3
Configure switch S1 according to the following guidelines:
• Configure the hostname* (the hostname of the switch should be S1_xxxxxx_FName (refer to note 1 for more
details).
• Disable DNS lookup.
• Secure the privileged EXEC mode using the most secure password. Use the following password @XXXXXXX;
example if your ID ends with 123456 (or your short ID is 123456) then the password will @123456
Use the most secure password to protect the privileged mode
• Configure a valid* message-of-the-day banner for example:
o Only authorized personnel are allowed to access the device
o This is a secure system. Authorized Access only
o Legal action will be pursued for any unauthorized use .
• Configure a password for console connections; the password should beFName@F20. Example, if your name
is Ziad Moustafa then the password will be ziad@20
• Configure synchronous logging.
• Configure a password for vty connections:last name. Example if your name isZiad Moustafathen the
password will be moustafa
• Encrypt all the plain text passwords
• configure the switch virtual interface on the switches
List in the beneath tables the commands you used for the configuration. T216B-TMA Page 6 of 16 Fall 2020-2021
The commands should include the command prompt as seen on the switch for
example:
• S1_123456(config-if)#ip address 192.168.0.2 255.255.255.0 (this is correct)
• ip address 192.168.0.2 255.255.255.0 (this is incorrect)
